Jul 24th 2007EileenWeekly Updates & Updates on the Kids...
Yesterday as i was at home getting ready to have a very productive afternoon of…. getting everything done, i had a rather urgent phone call from the school secretary….
“Mrs Lawler…. you need to come quickly, we have had to call an ambulance for Caleb and he is still stuck to the wood!!” she said
Needless to say this was very unclear!!! and a bit worrying! I went to the school to find Caleb standing there very bravely, attached to the tree support by a nail!! yes that’s right…. a nail!!! He had been running and put his hand on it and the head of the nail had gone straight into his hand.
So we waited for the ambulance to arrive and they couldn’t get him off, so the school caretaker offered them a very small hack-saw so they could saw the nail and seperate Caleb from the tree support. So after this minor procedure, Caleb had to go to the hospital in the ambulance with the nail (actually the nail head) still in his hand!! oh… thats gotta hurt i kept thinking, but Caleb was very brave.
At the hospital the doctor’s looked at his hand and took an x-ray. This showed that the nail was deeper then they thought. He was directed over to the adult side of the hospital as the children’s doctor’s didn’t feel that they could perform the minor surgery to get the nail out. The other doctor’s felt that since he had managed not to hit and nerve’s or bone they would be able to remove it right there….. so after some morphene, local anistetic a couple of stitches and a few loud screams he was all back to normal.
Caleb thought ya’ll would enjoy seeing the pictures he had of the event…. you will find them in our photo link under ” Caleb & his Nail! ”

Hey Everyone,
Well, this week has been like many others but, also with the gentle reminder of how fortunate we are for all that God allows us to have. This week i was talking to a friend who is having financial problems (mostly due to mismanagment of funds) and isn’t sure how they will make it through to the end of the month. I tried to use the opportunity to share with her but, didn’t seem to get very far. Please pray that i will know the words to help her work through this issue………..
on the other side…… having had this discussion yesterday i was looking at my day today and thinking that the Lord really does provide all i need. I had the privilage of attending a friends baby shower, as i always desire to give a gift from the heart i was able to make her a small gift and had to tools and ability. Then on returning home i found Aaron to have a group of friends over playing a game of risk. Realising dinner time was quickly approaching i was able to head off to the kitchen and prepare a meal for all of us with out a concern. So….. at this point as i look around and thinking of all the wonderful people that have blessed my day I think… how grateful I am for all I have!!
Jul 14th 2007EileenUpdates on the Kids...
It is that time of year again….. school is about to be out for the summer (July 26th), and the kids have all brought there school reports home. We thought we would share them with you….
Caleb has finished year 3 and a high level year 4 (apparently if his spelling was better he would have recieved a higher grade).
Eden has finished year 1 with an average level for year 1 (her teacher says she could do better if she wasn’t so social…… does that mean she talks too much in class???).
Nathan has finished Nursery (kindergarden) with all the appropriate boxes ticked…….. play dough - yes, san box - yes, and such….. He is ready to start reception. He seems most excited about the idea of taking his lunch to school!!! isn’t it easy being 4!

This week has been a busy one again. Lots has happened and it isn’t even over yet!!
Aaron had his hernia operation on Monday and is already feeling much better. He is up and around and moving the pain is still there but slowly getting better. Please continue to pray for his recovery from the operation.
They kids are all doing well but, completely tired of still being in school. As of today they have two weeks left still. I am hoping that the weather will get nicer so those two weeks will atleast be more enjoyable. Nathan is really excited for the school year to end……. but only because the sooner this one ends the sooner he gets to go to school all day and take a packed lunch. He will actually have the same teacher for reception that Eden had which is great!
Thanks for your continued prayers!!
Eileen

Well, it summer right!!! could someone let the weatherman know. We have had an incredibly rainy wet week. It feels like October not July! The bright side is that the flowers are all bright and beautiful!!
This week has been full of fun… A group of Teenagers arrived from NY for week. They seem to be enjoying themselves. CANADA DAY! was July 1st!!!! so…. HAPPY CANADA DAY everyone!!! INDEPENDENCE DAY! was july 4th (yesterday) so we had a BBQ with some of our friends, it was fun but the bad weather found us all sitting around the kitchen table eating instead of enjoying the beautiful summer weather….. ???
Please continue to pray for our friends Alex & Jana, they arrived this week and were turned away at immigration. They have been sent back to Atlanta to get visa’s. Britain seems to really be cracking down on entry due to the critical terorist alert the country is in. Please pray that they will obtain their visa’s quickly and be able to join us soon.
