It seems like in the past few weeks we have sent out a few prayer requests for friends and family that we felt needed much prayer. It is so easy to forget to let you know how things turn out. I was very excitedto recieve the information below that we wanted to share it with you.

Shiloh Hache

Thank you for praying. Shiloh’s levels (not to sure what they were measuring I think it was the bilirubin in her blood) went up to 18 and couldn’t go past the mid 20s or brain damage would happen, but praise God her levels are coming down. Jason called my aunt (his mother) at 2 a.m. and said the level was 14 and then this morning at 9 a.m. it was 10 and she will not have to have a blood transfer or transfusion. If she continues to do well she may be discharged from ICU tonight and maybe sent back to the hospital where she was born tomorrow or Sunday and then maybe home. She still needs to be under a special blanket with special lights for a few days. Please continue to pray for Beka as her body and emotions have been through a lot with her grandpa dying on the day Shiloh was born and everything that has gone on since. They are a bit concerned about postpartum depression, please pray for the Lord to carry her through all this in a healthy way. Jason and the children also need continued prayer and Beka’s mom Brenda as she leaves Tues to go to her Dad’s funeral (she lives in CA and that is also where her father lived). She will fly back for another week and a half to be with Beka and Jason and help as much as she can.

Richard

I should let you know how Richard is. He is home from hospital and seems well. He is booked to have his heart surgery for April 12 and there is much surgery needed. His results from his last angiogram last Friday said his left artery is blocked 70% so he needs to surgery sooner rather than later as his right artery is 100% calcified and his ascending aorta is also quite calcified and he needs a new aortic heart valve. It really sounds overwhelming but I do believe in a God who does miracles and has done in the past and will do so again in the future.

John

Just to keep you updated on John also. His surgery went well and they were able to remove the fluid. He had a quick recovery time in the ICU with no complication and then to the normal ward and home in amazing time. The doctors were able to remove all of the fluid but did find the tumor to be cancerous so he will now have to start an agresive regime of chemo. Please pray that all goes well through this process.

She developed jaundice and her level is increasing to a very high and dangerous level. She also has issues with some blood antibodies hurting her red blood cells and causing the jaundice to accelerate and there is a risk of brain damage if her levels get too high.. They are trying her on IV medications and if it doesn’t work they may have to do a blood transfer.

Thanks again for checking up on our website and finding out what we are up to…. I wanted to move away from the normal family type updates and ask you to pray for my cousin Richard.

Richard is currently in hospital awaiting a decission by a surgeon on what to do with his heart. he went in just over a week ago with the intention of having a valve replaced/worked on. The Dr’s felt that this was not going to work as his condition was different than they had anticipated. Today (Saturday 6th Feb) a specialist is looking at his case and deciding if he will do a specialised surgery to help him.

Please pray that the surgery will go forward and that there will be no complications.

I am aware that my explanation is very vague but, as many of you know i have absolutely no medical knowledge… so i thought vague was better than mis-communication!!!

Thanks again for praying!!

Our kids love hockey which is probably not too abnormal so on Saturday evening we drove to Guildford with a few friends to watch Guilford v Manchester. They all loved the atmosphere in the rink and we were pleased to see that it was packed out. I was a little worried that there would be 20 of us cheering on a team we didn’t really know. Aaron even managed to catch one of the prizes they threw out into the bleachers, it happened to be a Guilford flames jersey that perfectly fit Eden… she was even able to get it signed by 3 guys on the team. Caleb and Nathan both got some of the team to sign team cards.

What a great family outing!!

We just wanted to say a big THANK YOU to all of you who sent greetings and such to Caleb for his birthday. Although his actual birthday was while we were in Canada yesterday (1/24/10). We had a special lunch to celebrate the occasion in England. Caleb enjoyed everyone getting together to celebrate him.

It tooks hours to make all of the pizza dough but, in the end we even had enough left to take two to the Arabic church plant.

Caleb is now 11 and still proving to be a stong, determind child. His favorite subject is still math. He loves Hockey and reading, although his interests seems to be growing as he gets older and developes more opportunities to learn about new things.

This morning it was fun to hear him guiding his younger brother in the right direction. It was clear the situation was not going as planned and we were begining to hear some whinning. Wise words from an older brother calmed the situation down and moved it into a story of thanksgiving before I was able to get in the room to deal with it….. ok, i did wait outside the door to see how it would all pan out. It was great to see that he continues to learn the best way and develope the skills to show it in his own actions as well as help his siblings remember the right thing to do.

Continue to pray that he alwasy desires to seek out the directions God has for him.

So, it is now one week since we returned from our great Christmas/New Years Vacation…… reality is sometimes very hard to throw yourself back into. We made it to church the day after we arrived but then the rest of the week seems to have dragged as we all struggled to fall asleep in the evening and then wake up in the morning. i think or atleast hope that we are all back into normal British time now. I personally thought it was an achievment to make it to school each day one time.

Today a group of new students arrived. Aaron is busy picking them up and sorting there houses. Sunday we will meet some of them and then the rest at their welcome breakfast. Please pray for them as they adjust to life in London and for some of them this will be the first time the have to ‘live’ in a second language.

On Sunday we are having people over to celebrate Caleb’s 11th birthday. it actually happened while we were in Canada but, thought we would recognise it here as well. He is very excited… it isn’t every year you get to have two birthdays.

It looks like i should get back to making pizza dough…. Caleb’s request for his birthday meal!!

Since 24th of December we have been in Ottawa visiting with Eileen’s family. What a great blessing it has been being able to spend the holidays together. For a full week we all camped out at Eileen’s sisters house, they graciously added our family and the grandma to the mix of their daily life, We all had a lot of fun!!

On our first Sunday in Canada the kids were all very excited when we had to stop on our way to church to let the Moose cross the road!!

We are now back at Grandma’s for the rest of our visit. There has been a lot of snow and many chances to be out skating, toboganing and playing in the snow. Thankfully we have only had one trip to the emergency room and that was not because of a winter accident!! Eden had unfortunatly stepped on some glass and we were just unable to get it all out of her foot ourselves… even through we had thought that we did.

Eileen was also able to spend time alone with her mother and grandmother visiting her great aunt in her new home.

Aaron took all the kids toboganing today while Eileen went to a friends knitting club…

For the last weekend of the Summer we headed off to Edinburgh to visit the Jeffers. They are planning on moving to Arizona for a couple of years so we had to get in our last visit on this side of the water.

We had a wonderful time catching up and the kids all enjoyed playing together. It was pretty interesting with the age range… Caleb 10yrs, Eden 8yrs, Nathan 6yrs, Gabe 4yrs, Elsie 2yrs & Sol 5mo. As you can imagine some of the games couldn’t include them all.

We did a fun castle in East Lothian and then walked through the Fringe festival on our way to the National Museum of Scotland, Aaron, Caleb & Nathan even climbed Arthurs seat in the rain… oh the fun.

The pictures of our weekend are up on the site!!

Last week we all scooted off to the Isle of Wight for a family vacation camping with some friends. Having never been there and hearing mixed reviews we didn’t really know what to expect. Wanting to get every last minute of holiday time we left the house at 3am to catch the 5am ferry. We arrived so early at the campsite we had to wait a while to set up so not to start off on the wrong foot with our new neighbours.

The weather all week was beautiful and we all had loads of fun. We did a couple of walks, one up the backside of the needles and the other to St.Catherine’s lighthouse. Both beautiful and both completely worth it. We also had many afternoons at the beach, who would have known we were still in the UK with such great weather and wonderful beach’s.

We have uploaded lots of photo’s on the photo page with the link “Isle of Wight”.

Thank you to all of you who have been praying for all of our family this past week. We have been amazed as we have been seeing God do amazing things to work out his plan. On Monday morning when Margie (Aaron’s Mom) left London she was heading to Kentucky to visit Luke, Andrea, Maddox & Ivy. Thankfully Aunt Dail was able to see that her plans needed to be changed. Contacting the airline allowed them to stop her at her transfer point of Chicago to have her call home. She was then able to go on to Clinton to spend time with her mother. These days seem extremely precious as living so far away from her Margie was blessed with spending Grandma’s last two days with her. Grandma Spence passed away on Wednesday 25th February. We are saddened by this but, thankful that we know who she spends eternety with. We were also able to find flights for Aaron, Randy, Tina, Joy and Francois all to the US in time for both the visitation and the funeral.
